Coconuts and More

Susan, Jerry and I
It has been an absolute age since I posted on either of my blogs. I can't exactly tell you why. I have plenty of material. I guess it is just frame of mind and having them for so long, I needed a break. But we have had visitors to the island over the last few months. It always makes me appreciate this island I live on a bit more.

The third set of friends from my Holland America Veendam cruise from 2016 that went to Canada and New England came in last week on the Nieuw Amsterdam. It was great to see Susan and Jerry. Susan provided these photos. We did the obligatory lunch at Coconut's, one of our favorite places. Food is spectacular. It is fun and the owners so nice.

One last photo of my friends while here. Seems like they had a super good time! I know I was glad to see them.

Another Blast from the Past

I came across two photos I could not resist posting. One is of Moises and me at Versailles with our then state-of-the-art Sony camera. It took those little hard disks, before the floppy disks. Hard to believe that was only ten years ago ... 2002.

The other photo was taken by my mother-in-law, Daisy, when she and I went on an Eastern Caribbean cruise. This photo was taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico ... Jan 2003.

Cozumel: A Favorite Port of Royal Caribbean

Mayor Aurelio Joaquin Gonzalez with Michael Ronan of RCCL

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines names Cozumel one of their favorite destinations. There was an article on Royal Caribbean's blog that outlined why they love our island so much. I will repost a bit of it here.

"Royal Caribbean's Vice President of Latin American Relations, Michael Ronan, met with Cozumel, Mexico's Mayor Aurelio Joaquin Gonzalez, where Royal Caribbean continues to be impressed by Cozumel's incomparable natural beauty, high safety standards and hospitality offered by the island as well as having one of the best worldwide port infrastructure, which facilitates the operation of mega ships."
